English Language and Linguistics: Admissions Offers, Interviews & Visit Days

Offers

Our normal admissions offer for English Language and Linguistics schemes is the following:

A-levels: 300 points, including BB at A-level
Scottish Highers: AABB
International Baccalaureate: 32 points

Our English language requirement for non-native speakers is IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent)

Interviews

However, if you choose to come for an interview, we may be able to vary this offer, if you convince us that you have the right kind of background, motivation and aptitude for the kind of degree you are thinking of taking.

Open Days

Alternatively, you may prefer to come on a Open Day to look around the University and the Department and meet staff and students without any interview. For more information on Open Days click here.
