| Biography | He read Neurobiology at the University of Sussex and obtained a doctorate in Linguistics from the University of Essex in 1980. His current research interests centre on the theory of morphology and on morphosyntax, and he also has an interest in Slavic linguistics. He is the author of Morphological Theory (Blackwell, 1991), and Phonology (Blackwell, 1996), Clitics (2012, CUP, with A. Luís), Lexical Relatedness: a Paradigm-based Model (to appear, OUP). He co-edited the Handbook of Morphology (Blackwell, 1998 with A Zwicky), Projecting Morphology (CSLI, 2004, with L. Sadler) and The Oxford Handbook of Case (2009, OUP, co-editor, A. Malchukov).
