The Fifth Language at the University of Essex Postgraduate Conference.

The Department of Language and Linguistics at the University of Essex invites you to its sixth postgraduate two-day conference which will be held at the University of Essex on Wednesday 15th - Thursday 16th June 2011.

The conference aims at bringing together postgraduate students to present and discuss current research, results and problems from any field of linguistics.

Call for Papers, Posters & Workshops

Abstracts of no more than 250 words are invited on any topic in linguistics. The deadline for receipt of abstracts for oral presentations, poster presentations, and workshops is the Sunday 6th March 2011 [Extended to Sunday 13th March 2011]

All abstracts should be in accordance with the formatting guidelines laid out in the LangUE 2011 submission form.

The email to which you attach the following documents should contain the subject line: ‘abstract submission’.

     * Abstract submission form
     * Anonymous file of your abstract
     * Named file of your abstract

The body of the e-mail should contain your name, affiliation, and e-mail address. Abstracts should be sent to langue@essex.ac.uk. Note that no late submissions will be accepted. All submissions will be peer-reviewed.

Proceedings

Submission to the fifth volume of the 'Proceedings of the LangUE' will be invited from all those who present their work at the LangUE 2011. Submissions must be emailed to 'langue@essex.ac.uk' by the date of the conference, and revised papers may be submitted in the two weeks following the conference (to allow for revisions following comments/discussion at the conference).  Proceedings guidelines is available in the Proceedings Guidelines page. The proceedings will be published online.

Conference Format

The conference will include presentations of papers, posters, workshops and plenary talks.

Invited Plenary Speakers

We are pleased to announce Prof. Rosamond Mitchell (University of Southampton) & Prof. Bob Borsley (University of Essex) as this year's invited plenary speakers.
