| Thesis title | Female Homosociality in Alice Walker's Novels |
| Abstract | Supervisor: Richard Gray
In my thesis I examine how female homosociality can help the female characters of Walker’s novels to recognize their identity. I look at female bonding, female friendship and female hostility in all of her novels. I also study how the society of Black women attempt to regain self-actualization. Walker’s concept of Womanism will be focused on during this analysis, in addition to the ideas of Judith Butler and Gayatri Spivak. |
