| Biography | Leon Burnett's main research interests cover modern European poetry (especially in the Romantic and post-Symbolist periods), translation and creativity, the revival of myth in modern culture and literary relations between Russia and the West in nineteenth- and twentieth-century fiction (with particular emphasis on the writings of Dostoevsky, Turgenev and Chekhov). He is currently working on a book to be entitled Faces of the Sphinx: Literary Encounters between Russia and the West. |
