At our Southend Campus, we are building a new gym and you can access a range of sports in the local area.
You can enjoy and take part in a whole range of sports
while studying at Essex. We offer access to excellent, high-quality
sports facilities
which are also open to the public.
We are also investing in making them even better. At the
Colchester Campus our Sports Centre has just
had a £1.4 million refurbishment and extension, including a
state-of-the-art gym. Our Southend Campus will soon be home to a new
gym allowing you to easily integrate fitness into your lifestyle.

Sports and Exercise Science has built a reputation for outstanding research, teaching and applied sports science,
while our Human Performance Unit provides support to leading athletes.

You can choose from more than 165 clubs and societies when you come to Essex. These cover the arts, sport, politics,
culture and music, so you a chance to discover new talents or develop new interests.
London 2012
We are ideally located for London 2012, offer some of the most advanced sporting
facilities in the country and are supporting young talent through our sports
bursaries. Like the rest of the UK, we are looking forward to the Olympics coming to London!
