Part-time work

Many of our students undertake part-time work during their studies to earn money and gain important experience to prepare them for graduate-level jobs.

JobsOnline

JobsOnline, our online vacancy service, helps you find part-time work during the term and vacation period. Vacancies are highlighted via online updates, on notice boards around our campuses and in regular e-mails.

Frontrunners

Our innovative frontrunners student placement scheme provides campus-based, paid opportunities which allow you to develop your skills. Each post is supported by a skills development programme.

Careers Centre

Our Employability and Careers Centre can offer you advice and support about finding part-time work.

Graduate Teaching Assistants

Most departments, schools and centres provide research students with work opportunities as Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs), who support our permanent academic staff in their teaching.

All our GTAs are given an induction and training courses, and are supervised by permanent members of staff.

Working as a GTA will give you experience of teaching in higher education in a supportive and structured way. You will also be able to gain credits for your work by taking module one of the Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education Practice (PG CHEP).
