Open days
Book a place at one of our open days to see for yourself what we offer.
Academic and support staff will be available to answer your questions,
while a campus tour with our current students allows you to view our
facilities and accommodation.
Theatre, live music, films and exhibitions - at Essex you
can see and take part in a variety of performances and art events
throughout the year, from watching famous bands and innovative
theatre companies to viewing exciting art shows.
Our love of the arts is reflected in the fact we are the only UK
university to have our own theatre at each of our three campuses. We
are also home to a renowned art gallery and a nationally important
collection of Latin American art.
If you like performing, you also have the chance to take part in
all kinds of arts activities at our University, through our vibrant
student societies.

Music, dance and theatre
At Essex, we offer many different
arts events for you to enjoy and get involved in. This includes Arts on
5, who co-ordinate activities at our Colchester Campus, our busy arts scene
in Southend and East 15 students who undertake public performances
throughout the year.
Exhibitions and art
There are
exhibitions and art projects taking place across Essex, with our Colchester Campus art gallery,
Art Exchange, our unique Essex Collection of Latin American Art (ESCALA) and our important partnership
with Colchester’s new visual arts facility, firstsite.
Clubs and societies
You can choose from more than 165 clubs and societies when you come to Essex. These cover the arts, sport, politics,
culture and music, so you a chance to discover new talents or develop new interests.
