Teaching and Learning Innovations Fund (TALIF)

The University's Teaching and Learning Innovation Fund (TALIF) was established in 1998 to support departments as they engage with developments in learning, teaching and assessment.

TALIF has been very successful, funding over 60 initiatives to date across nearly the entire range of departments, and is greatly valued by academic staff. Funded projects have largely been experimental and have focused specifically on improvements in student learning, economies in staff time and curriculum development (e.g. initiatives arising from widening participation, student retention, quality enhancement). Why not take a look at some of our past and current projects, or check out the Innovations Project Blog?

The first funding round of the year is currently open and closes at 5pm on Friday 9th March 2012.

The Sub-Committee particularly welcomes bids that relate to:

  • Technology-enhanced teaching and assessment
  • Transition and retention
  • Internationalisation and student mobility

If you would like further information on applying to TALIF (including final report forms) or to talk through a possible application, please contact us.
