Questions covering all LLM taught courses
1. What If I
have achieved a high standard in a related discipline which was not a law
course? We will give your application serious consideration, but we will need
evidence of legal topics studied in a related undergraduate course. For example,
you may have studied business law or commercial law to a high level as part of a
related course.
2. What if my first language is not English? Will additional
English classes be available? In the autumn and spring terms, the International
Academy offers free English language classes for students registered on
full-time courses at Essex. The aim of these classes is to support students in
their academic studies. The modules are open to all students who have taken the
University English Language Test. Classes are offered free of charge to
full-time students. For further information about subjects available and
arrangement for the classes see the International Academy website.
3. Will fellow students be from
the United Kingdom or from other countries? In addition to students from the UK
we welcome students from around the world including mainland Europe, the Middle
East, Thailand, China, India and Pakistan.
