English language teaching courses
Our courses in English language teaching combine the theory of language learning with classroom-based teaching methods. You will discover how people learn a language
and will also develop a range of techniques to teach English.
Teaching is through a combination of large group lectures and small group seminars. Our modules offer a variety of assessment methods, including coursework,

BA English Language and English Language Teaching
This course is aimed primarily at those who want to teach English to non-native speakers of English, but the principles also apply to the teaching of English as a mother
tongue and it has a greater bias towards English linguistics than our BA Teaching English as a Foreign Language. This course is for you if you have a keen interest in understanding
why the English language takes its current form and also want to learn how to teach English.
We also offer joint honours courses in modern languages with teaching English as a foreign language.
