11 August 2016: Modern languages at Essex 8th for student satisfaction

The latest National Student Survey (NSS) results show modern languages at the University of Essex is ranked 8th nationally for student satisfaction.

91% of students studying modern languages said they were satisfied with the course in the National Student Survey released this week.

Head of the Department of Language and Linguistics, Dr Nancy Kula, said: “We are very pleased that the very individual experience and the excellent study abroad program we offer in Modern Languages is appreciated by students through this high ranking. Essex is a place where Modern Languages are highly valued and we are committed to transmitting this passion to our students.”

The Department of Language and Linguistics at Essex was ranked top 10 in the UK for research quality (REF 2014) and among the top 150 departments on the planet according to the QS World Rankings 2016.
