Graduate profiles

Our graduates acquire an exceptionally diverse range of skills during their time at Essex and have entered a wide variety of industries. Their stories demonstrate the versatility of the qualifications that we offer.

Skills

Our graduates are articulate, confident, adaptable and have excellent communication skills. During your time with us, you will develop your self-reliance and self-motivation. All of our courses teach you other skills such as planning and time management, teamwork, leadership, negotiation and problem-solving.

Depending on your choice of course, you may also learn one or more foreign languages which are highly sought after by employers. Certain modules also develop your abilities in questionnaire design, quantitative analysis, discourse analysis, and digital recording and interviewing.

Diverse career options

Our graduates have gone on to have careers in a wide variety of fields, including teaching, journalism, branding, advertising, marketing, travel, communications, publishing, speech and occupational therapy, interpreting, translating and media.
