Module Description
A
module for those students who have passed LA440 Post Advanced Spanish or who have an equivalent
level.
The course
is based on note-taking and speaking, the skills they will need for
their work in Spanish-speaking universities during their year abroad. Students should have a B2 level within the European
Framework for Languages to do this module.
| B2 | EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK FOR PROFICIENCY LEVEL. At this level students should understand the main ideas of complex texts on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialisation. They should be able to interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party. They should be able to produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options. |
Learning Outcomes
By
the end of the module students will be able to use different advanced
varieties of written and spoken Spanish; analyse Spanish and Latin
American prose; write reports, commentaries, essays and exposé; use
spoken Spanish to show a range of styles and emotions in conversations,
exchanges, presentations, situationals and seminars; and would also have
acquired a set of transferable and cognitive skills. By the end of the
module students would have achieved a C1 level if they have successfully
completed the programme.
| C1 | EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK FOR EFFECTIVE OPERATIONAL PROFICIENCY LEVEL. At this level students should understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognise implicit meaning. They should be able to express themselves fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions. They should be able to use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. They should be able to produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organisational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices. |
