Module Description
This module is linked to The Materials Bank of the National Subject Centre for Languages, Linguistics and Area Studies.
This is a specialist content and language module for students who have an A Level in Spanish or who have passed the Intensive Spanish modules LA411 and LA412. The materials cover the history of the Spanish language from pre-history to modern times.
There is no exam component for this module.

All the materials for the module can be accessed within the University and from anywhere in the world if you are a student at the University. You can save the materials and your own work in a folder named 'LA447-From the Caves' to your personal drive. If you do not wish to do this you can print any part or chapter of the materials you think necessary.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module students will be able to use different varieties of written and spoken Spanish; write reports, commentaries, essays and exposs; use spoken Spanish to show a range of styles and emotions in conversations, exchanges, presentations, situationals and seminars; and would also have acquired a set of transferable and cognitive skills.

Language component
The module will cover advanced syntactical and lexical structures.
