Entry Level: This module is intended to students who completed LA 310 or with equivalent knowledge of Portuguese.
Module Description
This module will further develop grammatical structures and vocabulary in a wider range of contexts of every day life. Students are also expected to further develop background knowledge of particular aspects of everyday life and culture in Brazil and Portugal.
A textbook will be used in combination with audio, video and online resources.
Each hour concentrates on developing different language skills and students will be expected to be able to understand and communicate in everyday situations.
Teaching methods
Teaching methods will involve group work, working in pairs and on your own.
Classes
The module involves 3 contact hours per week. Each hour concentrates on varied activities to develop different skills (writing, reading, speaking, listening).

Criteria for Assessment: The marking criteria used on this module are those specified for LA courses in the Departmental Handbook.
Exam Format: The exam will have a similar overall format to last year.
Modulework deadlines are given in the module outline at the beginning of each term. Deadlines cannot be altered. Requests for extensions must be submitted in advance to the Module Director and no extensions will be granted after the deadline.
