She studied at the University of Lyon II and in Paris at the Institut d'Anglais Charles V, where she gained her licence in English Language and Literature. She went on to take a further degree in Sciences du Langage at the University of Paris VII. She has taught in schools in London and at Essex since 1983. She is responsible for the core post-A-level French language modules at the University. She is presently interested in techniques for developing oral skills and acquiring grammatical concepts. Corinne is director of LA140 Advanced French, LA150 Proficiency Level French and LA160 Mastery Level French.

After two years at a preparatory school for the Concours d'Entrée à l' École Normale Supérieure, she joined the Jean Monnet University of St. Étienne, where she gained her Licence in English Literature and Civilisation and her maîtrise in American Literature. She studied English and American Literature at the University College of Ripon and York for a year and subsequently taught in a London school as a French foreign language assistant. Sandrine has been at Essex since 1994 and is director of LA120 Elementary French, LA167 Translation, Interpreting and Subtitling Skills. and LA757 Modern Languages with Film Production and Editing Skills and LA874 Subtitling: Principles and Practice.

She read French language and literature at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland), completing her studies with the Diplôme d'Aptitude à l'Enseignement du Français. She subsequently taught French in language schools both in Montreux and Geneva and undertook further study to gain a Bachelor of Art as well as an MA in Translation and Comparative Literature. Having taught at Anglia Ruskin University for five years, she joined the University of Essex in 1994. Annie is currently the Modern Languages Coordinator and directs LA130 Intermediate French, LA147 French Professional and Multimedia Skills, LA747 Introduction to Professional Skills and LA871 Principles of Translation and Interpreting. She is also responsible for the Department's Open Language Programme.

Studied Romance Philology at the Free University of
Brussels, then came to London to work as a French assistant. She went on
to teach French in Adult Education and did an MA in Applied Linguistics
at Birkbeck College, University of London. She worked for 18 years at
London Metropolitan University (previously North London University),
teaching French, Linguistics and Translation. She is interested in
second language acquisition and text grammar, and has co-authored a
French course book.
She joined the University of Essex in September 2012 and is
director of
LA110 Initial French
and
LA157 French Cinema and Culture.
