ESTRO
Call for submissions
We are currently inviting submissions for Estro.
We accept three types of submission: academic (coursework)
papers, accounts of academic experiences and creative writing.
Academic papers can relate to any subject area studied within the
University, while accounts of academic experience might include:
- Reviews of books, articles, documentaries, theatrical
and musical performances, exhibitions, conferences,
colloquiums and seminars;
- Letters to the Editor;
- Research notes;
- Accounts of study abroad experiences, work placements or
field work;
-
Reflections
on art work from the ESCALA collection;
Both undergraduate and postgraduate students are eligible to submit, providing they are (or have been)
students at the University of Essex.
Students may wish to adapt an existing piece of coursework, especially,
if they receive a high mark for it, but submissions written specifically for
the journal are also very welcome.
Submission guidelines
Our
submission guidelines provide full details of our house style for
authors and we would recommend that potential authors review these
instructions.
Why Submit? Why Publish? Why Review?
Estro will be launching a series of articles on academic publishing for
novice and early career academics. The first article in this series is
written by Dr Carol Jaensch from the Department of Language and Linguistics
and is an introduction to academic publishing culture in the University of
Essex and the United Kingdom in general. For more information read the
article:
