International students' pre-arrival guidance
Travelling to the Southend Campus
Essex Business School students should arrive at the University by Monday
3 October 2011 at the very latest. However, we recommend that you arrive on
Sunday 2 October 2011. You will then have the opportunity to recover from
your journey, take advantage of events which are specially organised for
you, and be prepared for registration on Monday 3 October.
University of Essex airport coach, Heathrow to Southend
campus, Sunday 2 October 2011 only
We will be offering a limited minibus collection service
on Sunday 2 October 2011 from Heathrow Airport only and you
will need to book your seat in advance, by no later than
Monday 26 September 2011. Please contact the Student Support
Assistant to request
further details and a booking form.
Payment will need to be made direct to the driver of the
minibus service. Details about collection will be sent to
you after your booking has been received. If your flight is
delayed and you miss the airport coaches, you will have to
make your own way to the University on public transport.
If you are landing at Gatwick Airport you can travel by public transport
to Heathrow Airport, Terminal 3, to take advantage of the airport coach.
Coaches run from Gatwick’s North and South Terminals and take approximately
70 minutes. Tickets cost from £21.50 and can be purchased at the bus and
coach information desks or on the bus itself (subject to availability). You
