The International Academy offers a wide range of programmes for students who need to improve their English before undertaking study at our University. Our aim is to provide both essential English language improvement and to prepare you with the academic skills needed for successful study.

Improving your English before your course

Our classic programme prepares you for your studies with a distinctive focus on the language and study skills needed in an academic context, such as essay writing, referencing, using academic sources and project work.

    You can choose either a:

    • Deadline for applications: 21 June 2013.

We understand that many dependants may require additional communication skills to help adapt to life in the UK, so our programme is available free of charge to any dependant (partner, sibling or relative) of an international student, staff member or visiting fellow. We have four different class levels available: elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate and advanced.
