E-Learning
At Essex we have a variety of e-learning packages and tools available for use
by students and staff.
E-learning tools
Course Material Repository (CMR)
This provides access to web-based course materials that are relevant to a
specific course, such as course outlines, course materials, timetables, past
exam papers and so on.
Online Coursework Submission (OCS)
This allows you to submit
digital copies of assignments to your department via the internet.
Questionmark Perception
This is a web based application that
allows you to take online surveys, assessments, and tests. Your tutor may use it
for delivering online exams.
myLife
This is a personal space in which you can record
thoughts and activities of any variety (through a weblog), as well as create
work and social spaces that allow you to prepare academic work and keep track of
all of your friends.
Personal Response System (PRS)
This is a technology that
allows you to provide almost instantaneous feedback to your lecturer in the
classroom or lecture hall.
Other e-learning tools
Here in the International Academy we also use
Moodle and
virtual
reality.
Login Advice for Restricted Web Pages:
Some of the University's web pages (such as WebMail, myEssex, Online Coursework
Submission, Web Payments, Moodle, WebCT, Course Materials Repository, the proxy
service, and the Library) are only available to registered University of Essex
students and require you to enter your Essex username and password
in order to view them.
