* Some citizens of Hong Kong have new passports and are required to
register with the Police; if you are unsure if this applies to you, please
check with the Police when you arrive.
A stateless person, or someone who is travelling on a non-national travel
document rather than a passport, is also required to register with the
Police on arrival.
Failure to register with the Police, if required to do so, is a criminal
offence and could lead to prosecution. If you are required to register and
do not do so, this is a breach of your conditions and can have very serious
consequences. Please seek advice from the Students'
Union Advice Centre if you believe you have breached the conditions of
your visa.
If you have been given the condition to register with the Police but are
on a course of less than six months or from a country not listed above, it
maybe that this condition is incorrect. Please contact your
Student
Support service as soon as possible, we may be able to assist you in
having this amended depending on the type of visa you have and where it was
issued.
BEFORE going to register with the Police please check that you
have a valid visa. If your visa has expired you must seek advice
immediately from Students' Union Advice Centre.
