Training

In 1996, the Advocacy, Training and Education Programme was launched to provide a structure for work in litigation and legal advocacy, human rights training and human rights education.

The integration of theory and practice has always been a priority in the Human Rights Centre's training activities, building on the experience of its members who occupy prominent positions within the UN human rights system. The Centre's recent training programmes include:

  • Amnesty International  For the past decade, the Centre has provided human rights training for Amnesty International (International Secretariat) in London on an ad hoc basis.  The Centre currently runs two training programmes, one on International Human Rights Law and one on International Humanitarian Law.
Since 1999, the Centre has organised short Modules in London annually for staff of Amnesty International (UK).
