Forced Eviction of Gypsy and Traveller Community of Dale Farm, UK, Approved
On Monday 14 March local
authority Basildon District Council (BDC) in the UK
voted to forcibly evict 86 gypsy and Traveller families from Dale Farm. BDC is
failing to abide by its human rights obligations, notably to
assist the
community in finding suitable alternative land. The eviction would constitute a
considerable financial burden for taxpayers, while exacerbating homelessness in
the area. Read more about recent developments in this case and learn how to take
action by writing to BDC
