02 April 2013: Local History Centre modules for summer 2013
The Centre for Local and Regional History will be offering two new modules in the summer term of 2013. Offered on the Centre’s Certificate of Continuing Education in Local Historical Studies programme, the modules are open to members of the public and taught mainly in the evenings. Local historian Patrick Denney will teach A History of Colchester from the 17th to the 20th century on Monday evenings, starting on Monday 22 April; the module will include a walking tour of the town. Archaeologist Howard Brooks will teach Practical Archaeology Part 2: Exploring the post-medieval landscape through excavation at Marks Hall. This module starts on Tuesday 30 April and includes four site visits to the ongoing dig at Marks Hall.
