Free language courses for Essex students

As a University of Essex student, you can study a language alongside your course at no extra cost from September 2012.

The Languages for All (LfA) scheme aims to give you core language skills that will significantly improve your chances of graduate employment, expand options for studying, working and travelling internationally, as well as increasing your global and cultural awareness.

You can choose one of three options:

  • Language Framework: study one of 50 taught language modules on a part-time day-time basis (previously the Open Language Programme);
  • Language Portfolio: study flexibly through web-based language learning and optional extra activities, such as conversation classes; or
  • Language Express: study a language module in the evening.

You can apply online from September 2012.

Full details about LfA opportunities can be found on the main university webpages.

If you have any questions about LfA please contact with the Programme Co-ordinator, Alexander Burdumy, by e-mail: aburdumy@essex.ac.uk or phone: +44 (0)1206 872085.
