Essex at The Link, Trinity Methodist Church, Rainsford
Road, Chelmsford, followed by tea. Cost £5. Saturday 14 April. Visit at 2pm. to
Valance House and Museum at with a guided architectural history
tour by the Curator, at 2pm. Numbers limited to 32, in two
groups. Cost £5. Café on site for refreshments. Friday 20 April. Visit to Terling
Place. Details to be confirmed but, if interested, please
contact the Programme Secretary. Saturday 19 May. Visit at 1pm. to Stow
Maries aerodrome. Talk and tour of museum and aerodrome led by
the Curator, including tea in the restaurant. Minimum
number 25. Cost £6. Saturday 9 June. AGM at 2pm. in St
Leonard’s Hall, St Mary’s church, Broomfield, followed by a talk
by Ken Searles, local historian. Tea provided. Cost £5. Wednesday 4 July. Visit at 5.30pm. to
the Gibberd Garden, Harlow, including a talk on the history of
the garden and visit to the Gibberd rooms and garden. Cost £6.
Tea rooms available for refreshments. Sunday 12 August. Visit at 2pm.
to the Guildhall, Pykenham’s Tower and Hadleigh church, Suffolk,
led by John Walker. Number limited to 30, split into two groups.
Cost £10 inclding refreshments. Saturday 15 September. Visit at
2pm. to Wivenhoe for walk, talk and the Nottage Museum. Numbers
limited to 30. Cost £5 including refreshments. Sunday 14 October. The Morant lunch at
12.30 for 1pm. at The Old Moot House, Castle Hedingham. Cost
£25. Booking and payment must be made by 14 September.

before the event using the booking form, and enclosing a stamped
addressed envelope for each event so that confirmation, maps and

Essex Society for Archaeology and History. Visits are open to members, associates and their
