SHHS works closely with health and social care organisations and is keen to promote and develop Knowledge Transfer Partnerships.

SHHS are engaged in a wide range of broad Knowledge Transfer activities. These include the following:
- Facilitating training events and chairing of conferences based on individual expert professional knowledge and skills.
- Service development work including supporting revision of NHS Trust policies and procedures; developing practice tools for staff; contribution to service audit groups; membership of Trust uni-professional development groups and multi-professional service development group.
- Service evaluation and development for Trusts
- Provision of expert clinical and managerial supervision to staff in NHS Trusts, also providing training and support for clinical supervisors.
- Trusteeships of charitable organisations and Trusts based on expert knowledge and skills.
- Invited membership of government and independent ‘think tanks’.
- Research related – (1) directorships (2) management committee (3) R&D groups with Trusts, NIHR, CLRN etc.
