All our degrees will give you a sound understanding in political systems, political behaviour and political ideas. As one of the larger political science departments in Europe we are able to cover a wide range of approaches and specialisms relating to virtually all aspects of politics, which allows you to select from a large number of courses and modules.

As a graduate from the department you will be well-equipped for a range of careers and you can leave Essex knowing that you have been taught by teachers and researchers at the forefront of their field.

Scholarships and funding

Faculty of Social Sciences Masters Scholarship

If you are coming to study with us in 2012 or 2013 you will be able to compete for our Faculty of Social Sciences Masters Scholarship to continue studying for a Masters course at Essex in one of our participating departments.

Study abroad

There are many opportunities for you to study abroad, whether this is for one term or a full year as part of your course. We have exchange agreements with a wide variety of universities and we can help you to select the most appropriate destination. More information is available from our Study Abroad Office.

Apply to study

Applications are made online through UCAS. More information is available from Undergraduate Admissions. The University's applicant portal, myEssex, provides online services once you have submitted your application through UCAS.
