Frontrunners

Frontrunners is the university’s paid internship scheme, offering a day of work each week throughout spring term.

It’s designed for students looking for their first work experience in a specific field of interest. Frontrunners is here to develop your skills, knowledge, and experience in a supportive, familiar environment.

Frontrunner applications for internships in 2023-24 have now closed. 

Frontrunners will return next academic year. If you would like to know when applications open, please join our Get Experience mailing list.

Dates and key information

  • This year’s internships will take place throughout spring term from 15 January until 22 March 2024. 
  • You will need to be a current registered student until July 2024, and not have existing experience in the field/sector of the internship, to be eligible.
  • You will need to be to commit to work one full day of 7.2 hours or two half days of 3.6 hours a week.
  • Frontrunner internships are a development opportunity with essential training.
  • You can apply for up to five roles via GradIntelligence during October 2023, and if you are shortlisted you will be invited to interview in November 2023.
  • All successful Frontrunners will be offered internships of 7.2hrs a week for 10 weeks, at £10.87 per hour.
