Central Stores stocks a range of essential and commonly-used items, such as
cleaning, maintenance, electrical and stationery products, required for the maintenance and day-to-day running of all three campuses.
Central Stores also provides a range of other services at our Colchester Campus, including a delivery and collection point for couriers, student luggage storage and a
toner recycling point.

How to order
To order products from Central Stores, departments must first complete a stock requisition form (EO.47b) which are available in Central Stores as are staff
offering advice on completing them. The document should be fully completed, including an appropriate charge code and signed by an authorised signatory.
The requisition and issue note (white, blue and yellow copies) should be sent by internal post or taken by hand to the Central Stores. The pink copy should be retained
by the originator. Faxed copies of the requisition will not be accepted.
All products held in Central Stores
are also available for private purchase and can be purchased by members of staff via a cash transaction.
Once the requisition has been completed products can either be collected from Central Stores or delivered directly to departments. A daily delivery is made from Colchester to Loughton
and Southend Campuses.

the catalogue is effective. The prices include VAT where applicable and are net of all discounts.
To return an item to a supplier via stores use the return note form (.doc).

We aim to deliver all parcels to departments within 24 hours of them arriving in Central Stores, but we also do our best to contact departments immediately when parcels
arrive clearly marked as urgent. Students who have parcels delivered to Central Stores are notified immediately by email.
Departments wishing to send deliveries from the Colchester Campus via couriers can use Central Stores as a collection point. Departments should first arrange the
collection with a courier (eg DHL, TNT, UPS) and then bring the parcels to Central Stores. Our team then liaise with the couriers and ensure the collection
is correctly processed.
Central Stores operates a storage facility for students wishing to store luggage over the summer vacation. All items stored by students are kept safely in our secure luggage
room (4SA.2.1) and are issued back to students at the start of the new term.
