ECPR Mobility Fund for Graduate Students Guidelines

The deadline for applications has elapsed. Successful applicants will be notified soon.

General guidance notes:

  1. The ECPR's mobility fund is available to graduate students from ECPR member institutions who have been accepted to participate in a workshop at the Joint Sessions.
  2. Grants are limited to no more than one person per member institution.
  3. The ECPR's budget for the mobility fund for the Joint Sessions in Helsinki is ?18,000.
  4. A fixed amount of ?500 will be awarded to 36 applicants. This may be used to cover travel and/or accommodation costs.
  5. A person in receipt of a mobility fund grant is not eligible to claim additional reimbursement of expenses from the ECPR via the Official Representative.
  6. Applications must be received by the ECPR Central Services by 1700 hrs on Friday, 12 January 2007. Applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application within two weeks of this date.
  7. Applications may be sent by email to ecpr@essex.ac.uk or fax to 0044 1206 872500 by the applicant. N.B. There is no need to go through the ECPR Official Representative.
  8. The grant will be paid AFTER the Joint Sessions upon production of proof of student status and receipts. Where the full costs of accommodation or travel are covered, original tickets and receipts are required.

Selection/eligibility criteria:

  1. Applicants must at the time of the Joint Sessions of Workshops be registered PhD students at an ECPR member (or associate member) institution.
  2. Applicants must not be in full-time employment. Note that those students in receipt of scholarships are not considered to be in employment.
  3. Grants will not be awarded to anyone who has received a mobility fund award within the past year
  4. Applicants must be presenting a paper and where that paper is co-authored, must be the presenter of that paper.
  5. Priority will be given to those applicants who are more advanced in their research.
