Graduate diplomas
Although these diplomas are stand-alone qualifications, they are designed to
enable students to proceed to an MSc programme in the following academic year.
They comprise of 120 credits taken in one academic year.

Mathematics and statistics course
Each September we organise a mathematics and
statistics course for incoming MSc students and students admitted to the
first year of the four-year doctoral programme. This provides you with basic
mathematical and statistical knowledge that's needed for our MSc courses.

Apply to study with us using the
online application form. You will need to send all your documentation to
support your application before we can consider your application. Once you have
received an offer you can then apply for funding.

ESRC Doctoral Training
Essex is one of just 21 ESRC-accredited Doctoral Training Centres in the UK, which
reflects our outstanding reputation for social science and means we are able
to award a number of scholarships for PhD study.
PG open days
Book a place at one of our postgraduate open days to find out more about
studying at a top ten UK research university. Academic and support staff will be available to answer your questions and you can speak to current students about life at Essex while taking a campus tour.
