Classes start in the week 3.

You must attend the class to which you have been assigned and only that class each week.

There are five first year economics modules: Books

EC100 Economics for Business
  • Each week there is a two hour lecture.
  • The lecture takes place in the Autumn and Spring terms.
  • You will be assigned to one of the classes.  You must attend that class, and only that class, each week.
EC111 Introduction to Economics
  • Each week there is a two hour lecture.
  • The lecture takes place in the Autumn and Spring terms.
  • You will be assigned to one of the classes.  You must attend that class, and only that class, each week.
EC114 Introduction to Quantitative Economics
  • Each week there are two lectures.
  • The lectures take place in the Autumn and Spring terms.
  • You will be assigned to one of the classes.  You must attend that class, and only that class, each week.
  • PC Lab sessions (for Stata) in University weeks 6, 9, 20, 22, 24:
    EC115 Methods of Economic Analysis
  • Each week there are two lectures.
  • The lectures take place in the Autumn and Spring terms.
  • You will be assigned to one of the classes.  You must attend that class, and only that class, each week.
EC120 The World Economy in Historical Perspective
  • Each week there are two sessions (lectures and classes combined).
  • The lectures take place in the Autumn and Spring terms.

Second year modules

University of Essex Campus - Lecture EC201 Macroeconomics (intermediate)
  • Each week there are two lectures.
  • The lectures take place in the Autumn and Spring terms.
  • You will be assigned to one of the classes.  You must attend that class, and only that class, each week.
EC202 Microeconomics (intermediate)
  • Each week there is a two hour lecture.
  • The lecture takes place in the Autumn and Spring terms.
  • You will be assigned to one of the classes.  You must attend that class, and only that class, each week.
EC251 Mathematical Methods in Economics
  • Each week there is a two hour lecture.
  • The lecture takes place in the Autumn term only.
  • You will be assigned to one of the classes.  You must attend that class, and only that class, each week.
  • Students
EC252 Introduction to Econometric Methods
  • Each week there are two lectures.
  • The lecture takes place in the Spring term only.
  • You will be assigned to one of the classes.  You must attend that class, and only that class, each week.

You must attend only the classes for which you have enrolled.

Final year undergraduate modules

You must attend all the lectures in each module for which you are enrolled.  For some other modules there is just one class, for all students to attend.

Postgraduate modules (MSc & doctoral)

You must attend all the lectures in each module for which you are enrolled. 

Allocations to EC501 and EC511 classes will be visible on your personal timetable via your MyEssex page once you have enrolled for the module/s.
