MSc Economics
This is the Department's flagship course. It aims to provide an advanced
level of understanding in the techniques of economic analysis. The
rigorous training and broad expertise in both theoretical and applied
economics attracts many students to this course. Compulsory modules
including microeconomics and macroeconomics and three optional modules
chosen from a wide range of subjects allow students to gain either
in-depth specialisation or a breadth of understanding across several
topics in economics.
The MSc in Economics has ESRC recognition, which means it can be taken
with the
PhD in Economics to make up a 1+3 pathway for those students
intending to apply for
ESRC funding.
