September Mathematics and Statistics Course

Each September the Department organises a mathematics/statistics course for incoming MSc students and students admitted to the first year of the 4-year doctoral programme.  The aim of the course is to provide the basic mathematical and statistical background needed for the MSc courses.  This is important not only for the students whose background is relatively weak, but also to serve as a refresher course for those students with a somewhat stronger background.   Example questions can be found here application form here.

The course costs £500, with a £50 non-refundable deposit required to secure your place. You can pay the deposit online here. Only students holding a current offer of admission for an MSc course in the Department of Economics are eligible to apply.
