Postgraduate information - taught schemes
As one of the UK's leading Economics Departments, Essex is an excellent choice
for postgraduate study.
The Department offers some of the most established Masters degrees in the UK,
including specialist courses such as:
Our flagship
course, the
MSc in Economics
along with the
MSc in Economics and Econometrics have Economic and Social Research Council
(ESRC) recognition and can
be taken as part of the 1+3 pathway with the
PhD in
Economics for students who wish to be considered for
ESRC funding.
The
MSc in Applied Economics and Data Analysis also has ESRC recognition and can
be used in the same way within the 1+3 pathway for the
PhD in
Applied Social and Economic Research (offered with
the Institute for Social and Economic
Research (ISER).
We offer nine MSc courses in total, together with a
Diploma in Economics and the Diploma in Economics with
English for Academic Purposes.

The Department comprises more than 30 full-time
academic staff.
It admits approximately 100 postgraduate students from all over the world each
year, providing a lively multicultural environment for study.
All students receive training in research methodologies and methods.

pursuing research degree with us.
