Jobs and internships
The University of Essex aims to enhance the employability of its graduates.
As an economics student, you will gain a number of employability skills
through your degree course: literacy, numeracy and ICT skills; research,
information and communication abilities; and project and time management.
Other employability skills, such as team working, business skills and
knowledge of work and organisational cultures, can be gained through a period
of work experience and/or work-related training.
There are a number of ways in which you can gain direct experience of work
during your Essex degree. Dedicated staff at the Careers Centre are on hand to
advise you on the various opportunities and help you select those that move
you closer to your career aspirations, build on your achievements and fit your
target time frame. Possibilities for work experience during your degree
include:
- jobs during term
- summer jobs
- on-campus jobs
- internships
Details of these opportunities can be found on the
jobs and work
page on the Careers Centre website.
