We are one of three universities in the UK to receive Q-Step Affiliate status, meaning you can develop your quantitative skills by taking a specialised degree pathway or receiving a student bursary to go on a quantitative work placement.

Banking and finance courses at Essex

All of our courses can be taken with a placement year (except language courses) or year abroad. Our common first year grounds you in the essentials of business and our modular degree structure lets you tailor your programme of study to your career aims.

Our banking and finance courses are taught at our Colchester Campus, where you can enjoy cutting-edge facilities in the new Essex Business School building. Not only are you based an hour from London, East Anglia is home to global financial services companies like Willis, Hiscox and Aviva.

Virtual trading floor

Our virtual trading floor gives you access to industry-leading Bloomberg data, information and analytics.

Finance students access the same software used by financial professionals all over the globe to practise trading stocks and securities. Industry-leading software X_TRADER enables you to trade multiple markets from a single screen.

The suite is also open access for all Essex Business School students, enabling you to use real-time data for assignments and exam preparation.
