Improve your quantitative skills
Essex is one of just three universities in the country to have received
Q-Step Affiliate status for our social science courses.
As part of this affiliation, undergraduate students in almost all of our
banking and finance courses, as well as
courses at our Southend Campus, have the option of pursuing a quantitative
pathway called Applied Quantitative Methods (AQM). AQM is a qualifier that is
added to your degree transcript. Being on the AQM pathway gives you the
opportunity to be placed in paid summer internships at a select group of
companies and governmental entities.
More than half of our students are from overseas, so you’re joined in class
by students from all over the world. In fact, the University of Essex is ranked
2nd in the UK and 18th on the planet for the most international student
