Andy Olymbiou
BA Accounting, 2006
After completing my degree, I went straight into the world of work for a
mid-sized accountancy firm, based in the West End. My three years at Essex could
not have prepared me better for this stage of my life. The course had specific
elements aimed at helping progression in the accountancy field, and this has not
only gained me exemptions from further exams but gave me a real head start with
my work.
At Essex, the friendly environment of the Colchester Campus was the perfect
place for me to develop, both academically and socially. The range of activities
available was second to none finding time to study (which was mainly between
playing football) was the biggest challenge! During my third year I competed in
the IBM Business Challenge, and a group of students and I took part in a day of
activities in London.
Essex Business School was really supportive and I would definitely recommend
Essex to anyone thinking of applying to university.
