MSc International Business and Entrepreneurship, 2011
Country of origin: Croatia
Employer: PhD student at the Leeds University Business School
I decided to pursue my second Masters study in Entrepreuerhsip &
Innovation Group at Essex Business School in addition to my MA in Business and
Management. This is because of the uniqueness of its International Business and Entrepreneurship
programme, which combines international business theory and practice with a global
entrepreneurial perspective. This equipped us with the fundaments to understand both global
economic processes and modern practical entrepreneurial challenges.
During my study, students got the opportunity to express their ideas through challenging
coursework and learn about companies with arranged guest lecturers, seminars, and visits to
firms and companies. The highlight of the year was an organised visit to the OECD, Paris,
which enabled us to be familiar with one of the pillar institutions of global economic
development. Additionally, the school arranged training and part-time work opportunities
for interested students because of a good relationship with the private sector that the
school enjoys.
I found my year in Entrepreneurship & Innovation Group at Essex Business School
to be a challenging and life-changing experience. I had the opportunity to live and
work in a multinational environment, develop my teamwork capability, and my leadership
skills as being the PG Student Representative. The overwhelming support and advice from
my lecturers helped me immensely with my further career decisions.
