Carly Burgess
Second-year student, BSc International Enterprise and Business Development
The reason I decided to go to University was to gain knowledge on how to
help people set up their own businesses, and the course offered by Essex sounded
really interesting. A business degree does not pinpoint a career, but it does
open the door to a range of different opportunities.
I am really lucky to be one of the first undergraduates at the new campus at
Southend as it has allowed me to develop really good relationships with my
tutors, and to be one of the first to use the new Students Union facilities.
I am a Student Ambassador for the Southend Campus and a Student
Representative for my course. I have really enjoyed getting involved in
university life and one of my biggest achievements was being involved in the
organisation of the successful Southend students Christmas party. Overall I
have found settling into university life an easy process.
