'What actually happens to new enterprises?'
We are delighted to announce that the 2011 Entrepreneurship Lecture of the
Centre for Entrepreneurship Research (CER) will be given by Professor David
Storey on Thursday 1 December. He takes as his title ‘What Actually Happens to
New Enterprises?’. The talk will be followed by a panel discussion of the issues
raised by Professor Storey. The panel will include representatives from
academia, industry and government.
Professor Storey’s acclaimed insights into small businesses and
entrepreneurship have had a huge impact on research and policy relating to small
business development in the UK and elsewhere. We are, therefore, pleased that he
can share with us his new thinking and empirical evidence about the reality of
new ventures. At a time in the global economy when fundamental questions are
being asked about the type of business venture that can make genuine
contributions to innovation, growth and sustainability, our 2011
Entrepreneurship Lecture will showcase the thoughts, ideas and suggestions of
one of the leading researchers in the field.
Attendance is free but as places are limited early booking is strongly
