Essex Business School visits Chinese partner universities
Essex Academics Strengthen Ties with Chinese Partners
Essex Business School (EBS)academics, Dr Andrew Wood and Dr Cecilia
Cassinger, have recently returned from a visit to four of China's leading
business universities to strengthen the ties the School has with academic
institutions around the world.
Dr Wood, Director of Learning and Teaching at EBS, explained that the purpose
of the visit was to build on existing relationships with JUFE University in
Nanchang, GDUFS University in Guangzhou and Tsinghua University in Beijing.
"We were delighted to be invited to re-new acquaintances with our colleagues
in China and were particularly pleased to meet some of the students who will be
coming to Essex in the Autumn," said Dr Wood.
While in China the academics took the opportunity to give a number of
lectures to students keen on continuing their studies in the UK.
The visit was also used as an opportunity to begin establishing links between
EBS and Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL) in Wuhan. ZUEL is one
of a number of universities sponsored by the 211 project, a Chinese government
programme to strengthening the teaching excellence of around 100 higher
education institutions as part of a national priority for the 21st century.
