Essex Business School Inaugural Lecture Series: Audio Recordings
Professor Philip Hancock and Professor Samantha Warren delivered the first in a series of Inaugural Lectures

EBS congratulates Colchester's Businesswoman of the Year
Essex Business School (EBS) had a strong presence at the 2011 Colchester Business Awards this
month and the evening was a great opportunity for staff to meet some of the inspiring finalists.
Denise Sherer and Patrick Hitchen were delighted to be judging the Businesswoman of the Year and believe women
have a big part to play in business today.

Centre for Entrepreneurship Research - 2011 Entrepreneurship Lecture
We are delighted to announce that the 2011 Entrepreneurship Lecture of the Centre for Entrepreneurship
Research (CER) will be given by Professor David Storey on Thursday 1 December. He takes as his title
'What Actually Happens to New Enterprises?'. The talk will be followed by a panel discussion of the issues
raised by Professor Storey. The panel will include representatives from academia, industry and government.

New flexible course helps business people study for MBA
Essex Business School is supporting time-pressed business people who want to
gain additional qualifications by launching a part-time MBA programme. The new
course, which starts in September and runs alongside their existing full-time
MBA programme, is aimed at business executives unable to commit to full-time
study, but keen to develop their skills and professional competencies.

Essex Business School Open Day - Southend Campus
Our Southend Campus will be holding it's annual undergraduate Open Day on
Saturday 24 September. The event, which is free and open to prospective
students and their parents, is designed to give students more information about
the courses we run at Southend, what studying at The University of Essex will be
like and introduce you to a few of the academics who may be teaching you.

Essex Business School visits Chinese partner universities
In
April 2011 Dr Andrew Wood, Director of Learning and Teaching, and Dr Cecilia
Cassinger visited Chinese partner universities in Guangzhou, Beijing and
Nanchang. The purpose of the visit was to deliver a series of lectures
concerning academic writing in the UK and introduce students to modes of
