Our Partner Organisations:
Start up Revolution and Paper Mountain Solutions
StartUp Revolution Limited is an online service offering new businesses a combination
of complete start up solutions and information. Colchester based parent company, Paper Mountain
Solutions Ltd, has been delivering outsourcing solutions to businesses around the UK since 2004
and was set up by two University of Essex alumni. The company has provided several internships
to Essex Business School students and is a regular contributor to EBS seminars, conferences and workshops.
Mercury Theatre
The Mercury Theatre in Colchester is a highly respected regional theatre and home to
the critically acclaimed Mercury Theatre Company who stage a broad mix of classics and
new writing as well as working extensively within the local community. Michael Sherer,
Director, EBS joined the Mercury’s voluntary board as non-executive director in October
2011. His contribution adds a financial and managerial perspective to the organisation’s
governance and buildss upon the existing links with the University.
firstsite
The University of Essex is a key partner of firstsite, the contemporary visual
arts organisation based in Colchester. firstsite’s new building, designed by the
Uruguayan architect Rafael Viñoly, houses a dedicated space for the University
to showcase elements of its unique Essex Collection of Art from Latin America (ESCALA).
As business members, EBS supports firstsite and uses its facilities for a variety of
student and staff activities and corporate events.
Newsquest
Regional publishers Newsquest run a series of events to celebrate business success in
Essex. We recognise these achievements, and through our category and corporate sponsorship
EBS is helping to shape the future of both local and regional businesses. By supporting
this event we have the opportunity to meet some inspiring local business leaders and
further develop our links with local business networks.
Essex Chambers of Commerce
Essex Chambers of Commerce is a fully independent body offering a comprehensive and
continuously developing range of business services. They play an important role in
representing the views and needs of business at local, regional and national level by
engaging with and influencing policy development forums. On behalf of its members and
associates they also provide informed and expert business support on a wide range of
issues. EBS has recently collaborated with Essex Chambers to deliver bespoke training
courses to regional businesses.
Manufacturing Advisory Service
Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS): The MAS is funded by the BIS (Department for
Business, Innovation and Skills) and is designed to help manufacturers streamline
processes, reduce waste, become more energy efficient and generally improve and grow
their businesses. The MAS Directory is an on-line searchable directory to assist
manufacturers to search for a suitable consultant to deliver a MAS-funded project and
EBS is delighted to offer consultancy expertise in this area.
