Essex Business School develops long term partnerships with private, public
and third-sector organisations.
The business school for a new world
At Essex Business School we understand and examine the issues facing business
today. We offer a new approach to business which adds both economic value
and recognises the social, environmental and ethical implications of current
strategies and practices.
Holistic approach
We believe that this holistic approach makes good
business sense. This approach runs through all our teaching and research and characterises
the culture of the business school.
External partnerships
Our external partnerships extend from our
Advisory Board and our
Executive Fellows to our many
Partner Organisations.
It is the development of these long-term client relationships that is key to
our provision of a complete range of high quality services to both the business
and not-for-profit community, including degree courses, training programmes,
policy oriented research, and consultancy and advice services.
Some of the ways in which we work with business include:
- sourcing industry speakers for guest lectures and seminars;
- providing high quality business students for internships;
- graduate recruitment;
- research collaboration;
- business expertise input to course content;
- opportunities to sponsor students or involvement in
scholarship funds;
- exploring opportunities for Executive Education;
- short customised
courses for managers
- business consultancy from internationally recognised
academics; and
- providing business advice to the voluntary sector.
The Business and Management Training Centre provides short courses and
bespoke training for individuals and businesses.
Collaborative PhDs
As part of its 50th anniversary celebrations, the University has established a
£1million fund to support new PhD Studentships. The University will match
funding from external organisations which therefore reduces the cost to both
parties. Essex Business School is looking for collaborative partners where a PhD
student could help tackle an on-going business issue.

the University Business page.
Partner Organisations
Our Partner Organisations provide excellent internships, contribute to workshops and conferences and
run key events that involve our staff and students. Locally, nationally and internationally, Essex Business School strives
to draw in only the best expertise from the modern business world.
Executive Fellows
The Essex Business School Executive Fellows are senior
practitioners from the commercial, public and voluntary sectors who are closely
associated with the School. They contribute to curriculum development and
teaching delivery within the School and provide the link to an extended network
of industry practitioners.
EBS Advisory Board
The Essex Business School Advisory Board
is made up of internal and external members that
provide advice on the strategic development of the Business School, including
teaching, research and knowledge transfer.
Our Board members enhance our reputation and serve as a bridge to
those organisations and individuals who have an interest in the School
