Apply to study at Essex

Open days

Book a place at one of our open days to see for yourself what we offer. Academic and support staff will be available to answer your questions, while a campus tour with our current students allows you to view our facilities and accommodation.

Want to do better business? Apply to study with us today.

If you’d like more information about any of our courses before making your application, please get in touch.

Undergraduate

Undergraduate applications should be made via UCAS.

If we make you an offer, we'll invite you to attend an applicant day to find out more about your course and our School. You can also visit us before making an application by coming along to an open day.

Masters and MBA

Applications for our Masters and The Essex MBA should be made directly to the University of Essex. You can apply at any point throughout the year, but competition for our programmes is fierce, so we advise you submit your application before 1 July.

PhD

There is no deadline for applications, but we advise you apply before 1 July for PhD programmes starting in October.

English language requirements

If you’re joining us from overseas, you need to meet the English language requirements outlined on our course pages. Our Essex Pathways Department at our Colchester Campus provides pre-sessional English language pathways that are ideal if you need to improve your English before starting a course with us. They also give you an early opportunity to settle into your accommodation and meet fellow international students so you can feel at home.

Our partner universities

We’re proud of our partnerships with universities around the world, including:

  • link agreements, enabling students from partner universities, particularly in China, to study at Essex Business School
  • student exchange partnerships, where our undergraduates can spend time studying abroad
  • a limited number of joint Masters degrees, where we work with an international partner to offer a shared programme taught across both universities
