Undergraduate Courses in Computer Science
Developments in Computer Science and the computing industry have changed our
lives and our work at a rate unparalleled in the history of human society.
Information is now a core asset in the economics of the modern world, so the
skills of the Computer Scientist - the ability to control and manage computers
and the information they hold, and to use the power of computers to solve
problems - are in high and increasing demand.
The following five courses share identical modules in the first year with the
possibility of transfer between degrees up to the start of the second year. The
first year provides a solid grounding in programming, databases, internet topics
and system architecture. In their second and third years, students combine core
modules (which are common to all the degrees) with those specialist modules that
are required for their chosen degree, and other modules of their choice.
